Slavery, which started from European explorers looking to go to India but the arrived in north America. As they took control of the land, they started to take control of the Native American's which were the people who lived there already. Later on, they made the Native American's work for the explorers, these Native American's did work on tobacco, rice, and indigo plants. This new term now named slavery lasted until the American Revolution. You would think that this would mean equal rights, but it doesn't, after slaves got freed, it caused a new term called racism.
